THE FINAL match of the Ghana at 60 Cup will wind up at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, December 24, 2017, with both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko aiming to close the year with both the bragging rights and the GH¢ 50,000.00 prize money at stake.
While the nine-time MTN FA Cup winners, Kotoko, can again look forward to another victory over Hearts, who were the runners of the FA Cup to end the year healthy and with smiles, the Phobians would also strive for a crucial victory that could prevent 2017 trophyless year.
The Phobians, who have had most of their big name players crossing carpet to some domestic clubs with others having joined the exodus wagon to other leagues outside the country, would go the extra needle in the showdown with Kotoko for one last time before 2018 football season begins.
Hearts will be determined to beat the Kumasi-based club for the second league encounter. In the first, Hearts whipped Kotoko 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
If they are able to beat the Fabulous Lads, it would mean that the Phobians in the year 2017 have beaten Kotoko three times both in the league competition and the non-league.
“We are going to give it everything in Kumasi. The Baba Yara Sports Stadium is our home and that has been good to us. Anytime we are playing a cup match there the result goes for us,” said the supporters of Hearts of Oak.
The supporters of Hearts who were teased and mocked by their fellow supporters from the Kotoko camp will also be looking for bragging rights.
“We are looking forward to beat Kotoko and plan to enjoy every moment, to finish the year on a high note,” said a supporters of Hearts of Oak.
It could also be goodbye for a very bad season of 2017 for Hearts if they do not win the trophy.
