THE CHIEF Executive Officer (CEO) of Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, Mr Emmanuel Mokobi Aryee, has said its insurance package is real.
The insurance package put together by BIMA, AirtelTigo (formerly Tigo) and Prudential Life was to help better the lives of many Ghanaians as possible and have so far insured the life of over 1.8million Ghanaians.
Mr Aryee told the DAILY HERITAGE in an interview that the partnership arrangement was for Prudential Life to carry the risks of the customer and BIMA helps with the distribution of the insurance product while Tigo provides the database of clients for Prudential Life to sell to them the package.
According to the CEO, the product is priced and designed by Prudential Life and BIMA, whilst Tigo sends the package to the doorstep of customers of Tigo.
He said though the percentage of insurance in Ghana is not that great, BIMA, Prudential Life and Tigo had provided real insurance packages and they are committed to paying claims as and when they are due.
Customers who had benefited from the claims payouts were at the Tigo head office in Accra along with some top officials from the National Insurance Commission.
Mr Russell Haresign, the country manager of BIMA Ghana, said the 25,000 claims go to show that they were committed to their efforts to help families get through challenging times.
He said being able to pay claims in a quick and sufficient manner had been a key driver of the success of their insurance scheme so far.
He was quick to say that loyal customers who had been with the insurance firm for five years and over had not been left out as they too would be rewarded with free airtime and data.
