Vandalism: SIMMS S.H.S Closed Down

The Ashanti Regional Education Directorate in collaboration with the Parents, Teachers Association of Simms Senior High School have ordered an indefinite closure of the school.
The school, located in the Kwabre East District of Ashanti Region was temporarily closed down following acts of vandalism and destruction of the school’s property by some students.
The acts of vandalism is said to have been sparked by a misunderstanding that triggered at their dinning hall.
Headmaster of the school, Alfred Afriyie after an emergency management meeting with key stakeholders arrived at the decision to avoid further escalation of the situation.

In an interview, Afriyie said “l cannot take any decision by myself. I had to consult the authorities  from the Regional Directorates,Kwabre East DCE and also Madam Akua Abrafi  the kwabre East Director of Education. I needed to brief them on the destroyed properties by the irate students because they are the people that have the final authority to take decisive decision on this incident”.
