As the festive season is here, traders and buyers are busy cashing in. While traders struggling to make profit, buyers are equally patronising goods and services that will make their Christmas worth celebrating.
Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.
However in the Ashanti Region, some pharmacy shops recorded high sale of condoms.
A pharmacy attendant at the Kumasi City Mall who spoke to the Daily Heritage on condition of anonimity said “people come to buy medicines to treat fever, malaria and also buy cough syrups because you know the harmattan has been here.”
“However from the 22nd December, we have recorded high sales in two major areas. The ladies have bought plenty contraceptives and some also bought female condoms..as for the guys, they have bought more condoms than any other,” he revealed.
“As I am talking to you now, I sold about forty packs of condoms from yesterday up to this afternoon…meanwhile before Christmas, I used to sell like four or five packs of condoms a day,” he added.
