The Akotoe Tsrebuana D/A Primary School in the Upper Manya Krobo District of the Eastern Region has taken delivery of a four (4) Bedroom Bungalow valued over GHS60,000.00 (Sixty Thousand Ghana Cedis constructed and presented to the school authorities by Upper Manya Kro Rural Bank Limited.
In a brief dedication ceremony last week, the Board Chairman of Upper ManyaKro Rural Bank Limited, Mr. James Kwame Otieku, told the gathering that, Upper Manya Kro Rural Bank Limited became interested in the poor plight of Teachers at Akotoe Tsrebuana D/A Primary School, when they received an appeal letter from the School Authorities.
He added that, the Board and Management of the Bank were touched by the plight of these teachers who were having challenges with decent accommodation, and as a result refused posting to the school.
He said, the Board and Management therefore decided to come to the aid of the school authorities, to relief the authorities of the teacher accommodation problem.
He believed, teachers have a greater responsibility to mou0ld children to become responsible adults and citizens, and all this can be achieved, if teachers are well resourced and housed.
He however cautioned that, where teachers face accommodation problems, teaching suffers. Since it will reflect on the teacher’s contribution to the pupil education.
Mr. Otieku reiterated the bank’s commitment for excellence in academic work and the well-being of the teaching staff. He therefore advised the AkotoeTsrebuana school authoritiesand the teaching staff to put the facility into good use.
The construction of the four (4) Bedroom teachers Bungalow, forms part of Upper ManyaKro Rural Bank Limited’s contribution to Corporate Social Responsibility within the community they operate.
Receiving the Keys to the facility, the Upper ManyaKrobo District Director of Education, Mrs. Deborah Babatunde, and The District Chief Executive, Mr. Felix OdjaoNartey, both commended the Board & Management of Upper Manya Kro Rural Bank Limited, for coming to the aid of the Akotoe Tsrebuana D/A Primary School in providing a four (4) bedroom bungalow to its teaching staff.
They expressed their gratitude to the Bank, for the many projects the Bank has embarked upon in the district. Adding that, this gesture will spur the teachers on to improve upon their teaching and learning process.
They both made a pledge that the AkotoeTsrebuana Primary school, will soon become a model for learning at the basic level within the district. The District Director of Education, Mrs. Babatunde then called on other spirited organizations to emulate the shining example set up by Upper Manya Kro Rural Bank Limited.
In another personal contribution made to the growth of administrative work in the school, Rev. Divine Nartey, Head Pastor, Assemblies of God Church in Asesewas, who also double as a member of the Board of Directors of Upper Manya Ro Rural Bank Limited, presented a Personal Computer and Printer to the School.
Rev. Nartey challenged the school authorities not to rest on their oars but continue to build a good school for the community through hard work.
