Nungua Gborbu Wulomo launches Kplejoo festival

THE OVERLORD of the Gadangme State Gborbu Wulomo, Shitse Wor-Lumor Konor Borketey Laweh Tsuru XXXIII, has launched the 2018 Kplejoo festival (Homowo) with a call on the government and stakeholders to maintain the Gadangme culture.

According to him, the Greater Accra Region is fast turning against the indigenous people and therefore it was about time the entire Gadangme state forged ahead to maintain its tradition.

While launching the Homowo festival at Nungua, the overlord also used the opportunity to launch a website aimed at protraying the Gadangme culture to the outside world.

Mrs Elizabeth Naa Kwatsoe Tawiah Sackey, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, who graced the occasion, expressed gratitude and pledged her ministry’s unflinching support.

As a Gadangme indigene herself, she said she would try everything possible to ensure that the Gadangme state maintained its dignity and tradition.

The Member of Parliament for Krowor, Mrs Elizabeth Afoley Quaye, who doubles as the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, represented by her personal assistant, Mr Joshua Bortey, also pledged her support.

She appealed to the traditional leaders to make lands available for development projects in the constituency.
