THE PRESIDENT of the Greater Accra Taekwondo Association and security expert, Mr Norbert Amenfu, has made an appeal to ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, to extend his investigation to the other sports federations under the National Sports Authority (NSA).
Mr Amenfu, who is also the president of Norlympics, said Ghana sports needed a total clean-up and so he felt that Anas and his Tiger Eye crew must take their investigation to the other associations and not only the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
“Today, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi is at the receiving end as we are all pointing accusing fingers at him. Anas should get into the lesser known sports so that Ghana sports will be reborn,” he stated.
Mr Amenfu, however, gave his support to the Tiger Eye methodology of investigation, describing it as “a perfect one and it must be encouraged”.
Mr Anas, who is an undercover Ghanaian journalist, has conducted many investigations to uncover corruption in the country with the latest being on the GFA, that has implicated over 80 referees for allegedly taking bribes.
The documentary has generated widespread uproar, prompting Ghana to launch a process to dissolve the GFA and has led Mr Nyantakyi to resign after he was suspended by FIFA.
The former Director General of the NSA, Mr Robert Sarfo Mensah, and other employees were captured in the Anas’s expose that was premiered to the general public on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.
