Alliance Française to host World Music Day

THE 2018 edition of World Music Day ‘Fete de la Musique’ will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Alliance Française in Accra.

In a release copied to the DAILY HERITAGE the evening which will have variety of performances by diverse musicians will host artistes like the American academic, composer and saxophone player Dr Benjamin Boone, German musician Stephan Poetzsch, multi-instrumentalist Aaron Bebe, guitarist Nii Quaye Aryee and singer / songwriter Lamisi among others.

Live music lovers are set to be entertained with a variety of music genres including highlife, Afrobeat, jazz, R & B, traditional Ghanaian music, dancehall and others during the concert, which will provide over six hours of continuous music.

According to organisers, in the afternoon of the event, selected young and upcoming musicians, who have made a mark in recent years would showcase their artistic creations, which have won the hearts of the music loving public while preparing the grounds for the main concerts in the night.

About World Music Day           

First celebrated in the French capital Paris in 1982 – under the auspices of the former French Culture Minister Jack Lang – World Music Day is currently organized in over 120 countries throughout the world.  It has become an international phenomenon with concerts in over 700 cities worldwide.
