RESIDENTS of Santa Maria Sekuwaa Hills Top in the Ga Central Municipality of the Greater Accra Region are living in fear, following persistent claims that their area had been invaded by evil spirits which terrorise them in the night.

The residents claim the evil spirit is a man dressed like a woman.

The last encounter with the evil spirit, according to residents, was on Monday October 28, 2018 when a young girl and a boy were chased by the spirit when they woke up at night to pass water around 1:30a.m.

Speaking to the DAILY HERITAGE about their ordeal, some of the residents said “anytime you see this evil spirit, it would chase you and flash a light from his eyes at you; immediately you become speechless.”

Another victim, Ms Mavis Abla Asare said one day she experienced running stomach and came out from her room to attend to nature’s call at dawn. She said, she encountered the evil spirit and had to run for her life.

Ms Asare said the spirit pursued her to his house and even tried entering her room. “I wanted to shout for help but I couldn’t say anything until after the spirit walked towards a storey building and varnished.

“After the attack, I travelled and upon my arrival, I developed a sore and was later told by a soothsayer that it was as a result of my encounter with the evil spirit,” she recounted.

Some residents, whose houses are close to one of the places where the evil spirit is always seen in the area, told the paper that though they have not encountered the spirit, they have on several occasions been woken up from deep sleep by people who claimed they had been terrorised by the spirit.

Some residents believe the spirit is a Lake Pool river god who is angry because the residents have built to block the waterway.
