SONTO 1 Foundation, a non-governmental organisation under whose umbrella the ‘Sonto Show’ is run on Agoo TV, has donated assorted items worth Thousands of Ghana cedis to the Saviour Children Foundation Home at Kasoa in the Central Region.
The items include tooth brushes, paste, toiletries, provisions, toilet rolls, secondhand shoes, African wears, food items like assorted biscuits, bags of rice, sugar, powdered milk, and cakes, soft drinks and bags of sachets water.
Akua Sonto , the founder of the foundation and host of the Sonto Show on Agoo TV, said one of the major objectives of the foundation was to support the needy, especially children who have been abandoned in the society.
While expressing the excitement of being able to help the needy, she gave the assurance that the foundation would continue to support the under-privileged in the society and train some of them when the need arose.
The beneficiaries, she said, would be women and would be given vocational training to equip them to earn a living.
The donation, she explained, formed part of the one year anniversary of the Sonto Show on Agoo TV.
Rev Patrick Nwodo, the founder of the Saviour Children Foundation Home who received the items on behalf of the home, expressed gratitude to the Sonto 1 Foundation for its kind gesture.
He also thanked them for the gesture and appealed to other individuals and benevolent organisations in the society to come to their aid.
The Sonto Show is a social-issues programme that discusses happenings in the day to day lives of people and it is aired on Agoo TV every Sunday at 5:00 p.m. and repeated on Wednesday at 10:00a.m.
