THE MEMBER of Parliament (MP) for the Krowor, Mrs Elizabeth Afoley Quaye, has absorbed the mock fees of all 2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in public schools in the area.
This gesture to the numerous candidates in the public schools within the Krowor Municipal Assembly (KROMA) has given great relief to parents who are financially troubled and were wandering how to afford the mock fees of their children.
Mrs Quaye, who doubles at the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, made this known to the DAILY HERITAGE, and urged the candidates to take their lessons seriously and come out with flying colours.
“You have started your mock exams; we didn’t want to put more financial burden on your parents, so the MP is sponsoring your mock examination. The mock is to prepare you for the final exams. It is to mimic the final examination,” she told the children.
“So take this exam seriously because in the BECE you are going to meet similar questions. The mock is to help you pass the final exams.”
Mrs Quaye said she urged the candidates to also “have enough rest while you study so that you do not fall sick. Have a balanced life and also eat well. Do not starve yourselves. I wish you all good luck in the mock and the final exams.”
The beneficiary schools are SDA Basic School, the Quaye Nungua, Anglican Basic, Methodist Basic Schools and all the four schools under the LEKMA making up the LEKMA Cluster of Schools.
