THE 2016 Parliamentary Candidate (PC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the Krowor Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Mrs Agnes Naa Momo Lartey has called for unity of purpose especially within the youth as Nungua prepares to celebrate the Kplejoo festival.

The NDC PC said each and everyone has a responsibility to adhere to the principles that would breed peace and unity and that all other issues that will bring divisions within the people should be discarded.

Mrs Lartey made this call when she together with the constituency leadership of the NDC paid a courtesy call on the Gborbu Wulomo Shitse, Wor-Lumor Konor Borketey Laweh Tsuru XXXIII after the arrival of the ‘sacred corn’ from Oyibi and its subsequent sprinkling exercise which pave way for the celebration of the Kplejoo festival.

The former General Secretary of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG), said peace is the only way to breed development and therefore for the festival to be celebrated successfully, it would require all to come on board.

“This occasion is very important to us as well and I’m sure those who have come here is equally important for them because it is when the land prosper that every inhabitant also prosper,” she told the DAILY HERITAGE in an interview.

“So in this season, we are here to support our traditional leaders to also pray with one heart and one mind for prosperity, for progress, development and the general well being of the people. It is our prayers that, we see a lot of good things happening to be achieved,” she added.

“We are here to rap another year, the good things the lord has done for us …The things that unite us more than the little things that divide us, so I urged on all of us to adhere to the things that unite us rather than the little things that divide us,” she urged.
