GNAT donates to LEKMA GES

GHANA NATIONAL Association of Teachers (GNAT), the union of teachers in the country has presented some office equipment to the Ghana Education Service’ branch of the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Directorate of Education estimated at the cost of GHc17,000.

The items which include printer, desktop computers, and packets of A4 sheets among others are aimed at supporting officers at the directorate to continue to give their best to promote education in the municipality.

Presenting the items on behalf of GNAT, Rev Mrs Hannah Odjenmah Botctway the National Treasurer of GNAT said the items are in fulfillment of the association’s corporate social responsibility to support education in the country.

“We at GNAT as part of our corporate social responsibility has presented a printer, desktop computers, A4 sheets to support this office for their good work and to encourage the officers to continue doing their best.”

According to her, the items are to support to “our teachers and stakeholders. It is something we do as our social corporate responsibility and it is estimated at about GHc17, 000and other more things to come.

 

She urged the teachers to continue doing their “best by increasing our enrolment for quality education in the country because the children are our future leaders.”

Mr Aaron Teye, also from the national office at GNAT, added that it feels good to present such equipment “to our teachers.” He however urged the directorate to put the equipment into good use since “we expect to come back see them in good use and good shape to be able to do more.”

 

 

Mrs Gloria Naa Ahinee Clerk, the director of education at the LEKMA who received the items, expressed commendation at the gesture and called on other corporate organisations to come to their aid.

“We are so excited and without this equipment there is no way we can do our work. It is not the matter of teaching. The union of all teachers, they have thought about us and we are grateful. We assured that we will put them into good use.”
