THE DIRECTOR of Nursing at the Manna Mission Hospital Madam Joyce Bullah has made a passionate appeal to Ghanaians to support blood donation exercise in the country.
According to her, blood donation is a major concern to the various health institutions as donated blood save the lives of individuals who need it.
Madam Bullah made this call during the hospital’s fun games held activities towards the official launch its 30th anniversary.
“There is a shortage to active blood donors to meet the need of increased blood Interactive awareness on blood donation should be organized to create awareness and opportunities for blood donation,” she told the DAILY HERITAGE.
She also added that, blood donation could be therefore recommended that voluntary blood donations as often as possible may be therapeutically beneficial to the donors in terms of thrombotic complications and efficient blood flow mechanisms.
The call comes after the hospital held activities such as football, oware, ludo, aerobics, lime in spoon, sack race and other activities to officially launch the 30th anniversary and also to bring the staffs together.
The anniversary celebrations which is on the theme, “Ebenezer and Beyond,” celebrates “how far God has brought Manna Mission, a seed that was sown in Teshie many years ago” in becoming a medium through which many lives have been touched with the word of God and medical services.
On her part, the Director of Development at the Manna Mission hospital Madam Linda A Ablorh said the anniversary will take place between October 27 to November 3, 2019.
The fun games she said was aimed at strengthening the bond and unity of “our staff.” She however urged Ghanaians to support blood donation campaigns.
Some of the activities include football, oware, ludo, aerobics, lime in spoon and sack race.
The competition which was between staff of Manna Mission Hospital and staff of Manna Mission Church saw the hospital staff emerged the overall winner.
