MR JOHN Quayson, a 45-year old fish distributor, has won the ultimate prize  of MTN Mobile Money 10th anniversary, (MoMo@10) promotion.

He took home the coveted brand new Hyundai Santa Fe 2019 edition at a ceremony held in Accra. He had the highest number of points after using MoMo for his transactions.

Mr Eli Hini, the General Manager, Mobile Financial Services of MTN Ghana, said the company took delight in changing and improving lives of the people, adding that their utmost aim was to provide an excellent customer service through innovation, hence the MoMo@10 promo.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the event, Mr Quayson, a fish distributor, expressed excitement for emerging the winner.

He urged all subscribers to continue to use the MoMo for their transactions and called on new subscribers to register with it to win amazing prizes.”

Mr Majeed Rufai, Senior Manager, Commercials, MTN Ghana, congratulated current and past winners of the promo and advised customers to be cautious of calls that claim they had won prizes and should send some money before claiming their prizes.

“MTN will call you with its own number, 0244300000; also bear in mind that MTN won’t extract money from anyone before they are awarded with their prizes, so beware,” he noted.

Mr Rufai, however, urged customers to send a text message to a Toll Free number 1515 to report anyone who tried to defraud them.

The promotion was “Point-based” and winners were tasked to accumulate points during the month to win any of the prizes at stake.

Subscribers gained points by undertaking transactions from their wallet to merchants (via merchant IDs) for retail payments, transfers from their wallets to other wallets and using MoMo to purchase data and airtime, bill payments, and many more. At the end the month, we accumulate the points gained and reward the top point earners,” he explained.
