ABOUT 150 customers of the Ablekuma business centre of ASA Savings and Loans Limited have benefited from a free health screening aimed at ensuring that its customers remain healthy while working.
Speaking to the DAILY HERITAGE, the Area Manager, MrsCelestinaEsinamAyivorAfful, explained that the initiative formed part of the company’s operational policies in ensuring that society benefited from where it operates.
MrsAffulsaid the free health screening for its customers is part of its annual Corporate Social Responsibility for the community in which it operates.
For her part, the Branch Manager,Mrs Rosemary Awuku, said health is money and the best way to do effective business is to have a healthy body and therefore the exercise was also to ensure that the social life of its clients are taken care of.
Touching on the challenges she said most customers liked taking multiples of loans which hinder their repayment plan of some of the loans, adding that some also relocated to other areas when sometimes they had not finished their payment.
The beneficiaries were examined on blood pressure, hepatitis B, malaria, sugar level and breast cancer among other conditions.
ASA Savings and Loans started operations in Ghana in 2008.
