THE THIRD phase of the disinfection exercise aimed at making the various Senior High Schools and Basic Schools environment safe ahead of reopening of schools is underway in Accra.
The exercise by government which is spearheaded by waste management giant Zoomlion Ghana Limited is expected to to touch over 6000 schools in Ghana’s capital city.
The nationwide disinfection has become necessary following President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s announcement in his 21st Covid-19 televised update to the Nation that regular education resumes on January with tertiary institutions.
So far, the Osu Cluster of Schools, Osu Presbyterian Boys Senior High Schooo, Osu Salem Basic Schools , Osu Ringway Estate Preparatory and Junior High School, Ringway Preparatory school.
Other schools are Kanda Cluster of Schools, Sunny International School, Aggrey Memorial international school, Fountain of Youth International School at Osu and Osu Ringway Estate Basic Schools.
Daniel laryea-Adjei, osu presby boys primary head teacher on behalf of the Circuit Superviser within the Krlie Klottey Municipal Assembly Madam Vida koranteng expressed gratitude to governmentand zoomlion.
Mr Richard Neequaye, head teacher of Ringway Preparatory school on his part said, his school is ready to welcome the pupils and that all protocols have been properly put in place ahead of the resumption of schools.
He also commended government and zoomlion for the exercise.
