Prampram is yet to install a chief – Annor We Royal family

King makers of the Annor We Royal Family of Prampram in the Greater Accra Region which comprised of Abbey/Doku Mansro We, Tetteh Dzan/Larbi Agbo We and Kwei Opletu We have said there is no Chief at Prampram.

In a statement jointly signed by Numo Samuel K. Abbey, Numo Ebenezer Tetteh Djan Abbey and Numo Daniel Annerty Abbey on behalf of the afore-mentioned clans – the Kingmakers the Royal Family has not installed a new Paramount Chief for the Prampram Traditional Area since 2015.

The Chiefs said since the demise of Nene Tetteh Djan III, the then Paramount Chief of the area in 2015, the kingmakers are yet been able to install a successor, yet a self-imposed Chief has been parading the town and perpetrating illegalities in the area.

“This is to notify you that one Michael Quarcoopome Parker has been parading himself as the Paramount Chief of Prampram with the Stool name Nene Tetteh Wakah III. I wish to state emphatically that he is an imposter and thus must be disregarded”, the statement said

The statement further advised the public to desist from having any business or dealings with the said Nene Tetteh Waka saying anyone who does business with him does so at his/her own risk.

According to the Chiefs, Paramount Stool Father (Seitse) of Prampram, Nuumo Osabu Abbey challenged the capacity of the illegally installed Nene TettehWaka III to the National House of Chiefs level and had judgment against the said Nene Tetteh Waka was debarred from holding himself as the Paramount Chief of Prampram.

“The National House of Chiefs has passed judgment against the installation of Michael Quarcoopome Parker as Paramount Chief of Prampram. He knows very well that he is not the chief but out of thievery, he is perpetrating these contemptuous moves” the statement added.

The statement added that Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs (GARHC) in one of its responses to the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs indicated that Michael Quarcoopome Parker who was purportedly installed as the Chief of Prampram did not pass through the due processes of selection, nomination and installation hence his position cannot be recognized as such.

The Annor We Royal Family further asserted that after the death of the previous chief, Nene TettehDjan III, certain unauthorized persons have comprised themselves into kingmakers without any authority to install a new Paramount Chief who according to them is not a member of the Royal Family.

The family also stressed that the three accredited kingmakers, Abbey/Doku Mansro We, Tetteh Djan/ LarbiAgbo We and Kwei Opleitu Waka We, have strongly opposed the attempt to install a new paramount chief without authority but have been met with brutalities, even though Michael Quarcoopome Parker did not satisfy all the royal and customary requirements.

Request of acting president of prampram traditional council

According to the Kingmakers they are making plans to properly install a chief, meanwhile there is the urgent need for an Acting President of the Prampram Traditional Council to man affairs of the town till a substantive Mantse is installed.

“In the absence of the Chief, the most senior chief acts. As we speak, the most senior chief is also deceased but there is yet another senior chief so we expect the Registrar of the Traditional Council to collaborate with the chiefs and the Regional House of Chiefs to nominate an acting chief but the schemes of Michael Quarcoopome is foiling the proper thing to be done. Justice and truth must prevail for once in Ghana”, fuming Nene…………..
