GCA appeals for government support

The administrative secretary of the Ghana Cricket Association has appealed to the Government of Ghana to help the less-financed sports, especially, cricket.

Mr. Bernard Essuman in an interview with ocsportsnews.com disclosed that the cricket under-19 national team will be traveling to South Africa in September for the African youth cricket tournament and the association will need the help of the government to send the team to South Africa to represent the nation.

“I believe that Hon Nii Lante will deliver on his promise as he said earlier when he took the mantle as the sports minister that he will not be there for football only but he will be there for all the sporting disciplines.”

The National Under-19 team will be embarking on a journey latter this year, September to be precise, for the African Youth Championship to be held in South Africa.
