Movenpiina Energy has become a subject of controversy after the murky development surrounding its contract to distribute what has now turned out to be contaminated fuel onto the market.
The Minority in the wake of the BOST saga argued that notwithstanding the anomaly of being awarded a contract while the company remained unregistered, there was no competitive bidding as well in the said contract.
Ranking Member on the Mines and Energy Committee of Parliament, Mr Kofi Armah Buah told a Press Conference in Accra “So the company already won a 5m-litre [contract] when the company had not even been registered. This clearly suggests collusion on the part of the actors.”
Amidst the controversy, a Certificate of Registration of both companies[ Movenpiina&ZUPOIL] and intercepted by Kasapafmonline.com shows that the companies are registered with the Registrar General’s Department and incorporated to do business in the Petroleum markets.
Meanwhile, the Acting CEO of the National Petroleum Authority(NPA), Hassan Tampuli had argued that it was not abnormal for the two companies alleged to have purchased the over 5 million litres of contaminated fuel under suspicious circumstances from the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) Company to operate without license.
