Gloria Sarfo to launch #DecencyOverNudity initiative

BY VANNESA OFORI

THE SUBJECT of nudity has been one of the most trending issues in Ghana for the past few weeks.

It is in this light that actress and TV presenter Gloria Osei Sarfo, popularly known as Nana Ama, has expressed the desire to launch #DecencyOverNudity, a campaign geared towards curbing indecent exposure on social media platforms.

Speaking through the DAILY HERITAGE on the sidelines of ‘The Ghana Events Awards’, Gloria elaborated on why this initiative was born.

“I am Ghanaian and a woman and I believe in the values of women and, of course, the values in a Ghanaian and African culture.

“So the current trend of girls posting sexual and explicit content on various social media platforms and the fact that kids are also exposed to the same internet is of worry to me.

“That is why I decided to start this campaign by championing the #DecencyOverNudity on all major social media platforms,” she said.

The bubbly actress said she had been at that stage before where certain factors push a girl to expose herself, but entreated young women to withstand such situations.

“No girl should under any circumstance be pressured into engaging in such immoral act, let no one persuade you to expose yourself indecently be it your boyfriend or anybody,” Gloria said.

She hinted that there would be a formal launch of the initiative in the coming weeks.

Gloria then expressed appreciation to her fans and asked them to keep their eyes out for more exciting movies from her camp.
